While it has already seen limited use in the U.S. wine market, Zork, the unique wine bottle closure invented in Australia, is gearing up for an expansion into the U.S. wine market. Portola Packaging, Inc., of Batavia, Illinois obtained exclusive rights to manufacture and market Zork in North America last year. This month, the company begins manufacturing Zork at its 135,000 square foot plant in Tolleson, Arizona.

ZORK Production Begins in the United States 13 Aug 2007
Tolleson, Ariz. -- Portola Packaging has launched small-scale
production of the Zork wine closure at its new Arizona
manufacturing plant. The facility should be running at full
production by the end of August. Batavia, Ill.-based Portola
acquired licensing rights last year to handle U.S. production and
marketing for the alternative closure--a peel-off stopper that is
neither cork nor screwcap--developed by Zork, Pty. Ltd. in South
Australia.

But the company is moving more and more toward ZORKs . . . Even the pricier $50 Used Automobile Parts brand is closed with a ZORK.
